چکیده
The provenance of the upper Cambrian to Upper Ordovician sedimentary rocks Tasmania and Waratah Bay in southern Victoria provides information about complex dynamic tectonic environment present during their deposition. This paper uses U–Pb detrital zircon data constrain stratigraphic comparisons reconstructions these rock sequences. Multivariate statistics are used investigate similarity between ages quantify disparity among different samples from various locations. In western central Tasmania, Tyennan region supplied most zircons late Early Ordovician. overlying Middle Pioneer Sandstone records a switch with derived Mount Read Volcanics (MRV) mixed similar those continental-derived Paleozoic deposited throughout east Gondwana. Gordon Group lacks younger than 1.2 Ga, which indicates return local Precambrian rocks. In MRV Gondwana-like sources occurred earlier within Deadmans Formation, is dominated by Gondwana age signature. East Terrane, Lefroy have populations Neoproterozoic earliest Lachlan Orogen. Victoria, Bear Gully Chert exhibit both distal sources. switching west Tasmanian sequences implies docking mainland Australia Orogeny. arrival into basins at times areas, reflecting topography paleogeography. متن کاملNEOGENE TECTONIC EVOLUTION OF THE MAGDALENA SHELF AND SOUTHERN GULF OF CALIFORNIA: INSIGHTS FROM DETRITAL ZIRCON U-Pb AGES FROM THE MAGDALENA FAN AND ADJACENT AREAS
The Magdalena fan is an apparently beheaded submarine depocenter that has figured prominently in Middle to late Miocene reconstructions of Pacific-North American plate interactions. The deposit accumulated rapidly at the base of the continental slope atop newly formed oceanic crust of the Farallon plate from 14.5-13 Ma. Subduction of this crust ceased as the Pacific-Farallon spreading center en...

15 صفحه اولNew ideas on the Proterozoic-Early Palaeozoic evolution of NW Iberia: insights from U–Pb detrital zircon ages
U–Pb ages were obtained on single detrital zircon grains separated from six samples of Neoproterozoic and Lower Palaeozoic sedimentary and volcanosedimentary rocks from NW Iberia using the laser ablation microprobe-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LAM-ICP-MS) method. Precambrian greywackes yielded abundant zircons with Neoproterozoic (800–640 Ma) and Mesoproterozoic (0.9–1.2 Ga) ag...
